| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | L’obiettivo principale di questo progetto di ricerca è lo sviluppo di nuovi nanodispositivi basati su acidi nucleici per la detection tumorale, la terapia guidata da detection e il monitoraggio dell’efficacia del trattamento. I candidati ingegnerizzeranno e ottimizzeranno questi nanodispositivi altamente specifici, basati su sonde che subiscono un cambio conformazionale indotto dal legame con il target e così facendo consentono la rilevazione del marcatori tumorale o il rilascio del materiale terapeutico. Diversi agenti terapeutici saranno studiati, tra cui aptameri, siRNA e leganti del DNA. Diversi marcotori tumorali saranno presi in considerazione inclusi fattori di trascrizione, RNA e DNA, recettori cellulari (epitopi espressi sulla superficie delle cellule tumorali), ecc. |
| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | The overriding goal of this research project is to mimic Nature in the design of novel nucleic acid based nanodevices that detect cancer, provide detection-driven therapy, and monitor treatment efficacy. The candidate will engineer and optimize highly specific biomolecular DNA-based nanodevices that undergo binding-induced conformational changes upon target binding and, in doing so, signal the presence of the cancer marker or release a therapeutic cargo. Different therapeutic agents that includes aptamers, siRNA and DNA binders will be studied. Different cancer markers will be also taken in consideration including transcription Factors, RNA and DNA, Cell receptors (epitopes expressed on the surface of tumor cells) etc. |
