Descrizione del bando in italiano	Il ricercatore focalizzerà l’attività di ricerca nell’approfondimento di tematiche attinenti la finanza sostenibile all’esito tanto di fattori esogeni (ad esempio, la crescente attenzione di policymakers e regulators ai temi del climate change) quanto di un arricchimento dell’offerta di strumenti finanziamento degli investimenti in asset environmental friendly. Il programma di ricerca investigherà in modo approfondito il mercato dei servizi e strumenti di finanziamento a supporto di investimenti eco-sostenibili affrontando tematiche connesse all’offerta. Nella fattispecie, si approfondirà il ruolo degli intermediari finanziari e degli investitori istituzionali nel finanziamento di progetti a basso impatto ambientale ed investimenti in tecnologie environmental friendly. Oggetto di indagine, sotto il profilo del binomio rischio-rendimento, sarà l’investimento indiretto in progetti green mediante impiego di fondi raccolti da istituzioni finanziarie ed il connesso effetto “segnale”. Esplorando questioni attinenti ai profili di rischio e rendimento degli strumenti di finanziamento di investimenti a basso impatto ambientale, il ricercatore affronterà tematiche connesse al pricing dei medesimi in comparazione ad investimenti “convenzionali” in una prospettiva cross-country e cross-industry. Profili attinenti alla struttura degli strumenti di finanziamento della specie ed il relativo effetto incentivo rispetto ad investimenti in attività a basso impatto ambientale saranno, parimenti, oggetto….
Descrizione del bando in inglese	The researcher will focus the research activity on the in-depth analysis of issues relating to sustainable finance as a result of both exogenous factors (for example, the growing attention of policymakers and regulators to climate change issues) and the growing supply of financial instruments for funding investments in environmentally friendly assets. The research program will investigate in depth the market of financial services and financing instruments to support eco-sustainable investments by addressing issues related to the supply side. Related to that, the role of financial intermediaries and institutional investors in the financing of low environmental impact projects and investments in environmentally friendly technologies will be explored. The object of investigation, from the point of view of the risk-return combination, will be the indirect investment in green projects through the use of funds raised by financial institutions and the related "signaling" effect. By exploring issues relating to the risk and return profiles of financing instruments for low environmental impact investments, the researcher will address issues related to their pricing in comparison to "conventional" investments both in a cross-country and cross-industry perspective. Profiles relating to the structure of financing instruments of this type and the related incentive effect with respect to investments in low environmental impact activities will also be the subject of investigation. The conditions of access to external financing sources specifically dedicated to green investments will then be explored in terms of the effects on the cost of funding for companies. In this case, the specific object of in-depth study will be the relationships between environmentally friendly investment policies, systems for measuring and controlling environmental risks and firm performance. The research will make use of both qualitative and quantitative tools and methodologies aimed at a rigorous investigation, in terms of method, of the impacts of financing through environmentally friendly instruments on the main profiles of the economic and financial management of companies and the related managerial implications. The research will have to provide useful interpretative keys from the perspective of both management and regulators.
